August 2024 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Greetings Brewers,

Our meeting this month will be on Tuesday August 27th, at Seven Sirens Brewing Co. in Bethlehem. Come taste the riffs on the base Saison Rob Myers and John Litak brewed as the winners of the 2023 Homebrewer of the Year competition! Seven Sirens will be hosting the Taco Town food truck, so come hungry!

For those of you participating in the August HBoTY event, remember that those entries are being collected and judged for Malt Madness, so if you haven't registered yet, do so ASAP.

Malt Madness registration is live! Club BJCP judges, we rely on you to help make the competition a success. If you've not registered please do so. There are plenty of pre-judging sessions to choose from. Not a BJCP judge? We need stewards to help as well, and volunteers for the Bottle Sort on September 1!

The Barrel Brew competition club brew day is September 7th at Keystone. A reminder to register if you're interested in coming out to brew. We need at least 15 gallons to fill the barrel, but having more to top up and blend is always welcome. It always a fun time!

The Malt Madness judge gift this year is a great T-shirt in assorted colors. Not a judge, but want one anyway? They'll be for sale at the meeting for general members at $15/ea. Get your while they last!

Do you need a tasting cup that will be hard to lose, and harder to break? Rob put together an order for 8oz stainless steel carabiner cups, emblazoned with the club logo! These will be available at the August meeting for $10/ea.

Finally, the usual reminder that we've been looking for an alternative with a low barrier to entry for notifying those interested in news, festival opportunities, or event reminders, etc. outside of the monthly newsletter cycle. To this end, we've created the "LVHB News" Google Group. If you're interested, you should be able to search for lvhb-news@googlegroups.com in the Google Groups search and request to join.

See you Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHb Club President
