September 2022 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Happy Fall everyone! Time to start adding gourds and autumn spices to your homebrews! Or, perhaps you're researching how to put together a delicious Märzen or Festbier to drink in your favorite pair of lederhosen? Bring your tips and questions for brewing your favorite fall style beers to the September meeting as this will be topic of discussion. This month we'll be meeting at Taylor House in Catasauqua.

I'd like to thank our hosts Andrew and Brian from 5M Cidery last month - we had great club turnout and as we enter full swing in to the fall harvest, keep an eye on these guys and their new cider offerings for the season!

Please take note to some of the upcoming homebrew competitions by our local sister clubs. You can support them by entering and judging. See below for the updated list and critical dates.

Just a couple weeks to the Brewer's Guild festival. We've been asked to partner with the pro-brewers on an education station during the festival. We'd like a few brewers to volunteer to share their brewing knowledge for one of the sessions. Also, get those "ice cream" sours, stouts, fruit and spice beers and milkshake IPAs, etc. ready for the festival!

We've added a new event in November for the 30th anniversary of Keystone Homebrew Supply on the 19th and we have "Teach a Friend to Homebrew" hosted by the Beckers on the 12th.

Finally, a reminder that officer elections are slated for the November meeting. All positions are up for nomination (the current slate of officers is stepping down), so please reach out to one of the current officers to understand responsibilities and how you can get more involved with the club. See you on Tuesday!

Brew on!

Future Meetings:

Meetings are open to anyone (21 and older) who home brews (beer, wine, cider, mead) or is interested in learning about home brewing.  Our club has over 30 certified judges and several members who have "gone pro" by opening their own brewery, meadery, or distillery! - So bring your latest craft creation and get some constructive feedback and/or accolades!
